Calling The Horus Heresy Drop Assault as a fan-service-priority game isn’t excessively important, because it is the first Warhammer 40K story: The Horus Heresy implemented in one game. In order to make the war between maritime areas more varied here, Complex Games includes a legion selection feature that is a subfactual aspect of drop assault. One of four marine legions can be selected with different strength characteristics, for example five percent better health for the legion of the Death Guard, five percent more attacks on World Eaters, ten percent fighting ability for Horus’ sons and finally ten percent more speed for Imperial children. Whatever camp you choose determines how well you use Drop Assault to implement your battle strategy. Want to play aggressively or just play intelligently with a strong strategy.
Drop Assault must present something that makes it different from other games as a strategy game with a formula that’s pretty much branded like another game. Another interesting thing about Drop Assault is the Live Skirmish player versus player feature. This feature is an alternative player raid, with PvP activity more confronted in real time. The main purpose of this Drop Assault feature also reminds me of the RTS Warhammer 40K battle: Dawn of War. Your main purpose is to gain as many points as possible by mastering three checkpoints in the middle of the arena and by eliminating all the existing enemy units, you can win the fight. This one feature can be called Drop Assault’s main attraction, as you get loot for relics more often than the usual way.
While the concept of PvP in real time sounds interesting, the implementation of this feature unfortunately does not mean bug-free. In a number of live Skirmish sessions I found that the fight that never began began because the enemy I faced at the beginning of the game was disconnected. In consequence, I had to restart the Drop Assault application using the force closing method and reboot the game.
Talking about Drop Assault doesn’t feel complete if I don’t mention the relics in it. Relic is an important element in the defense of your bases as well as additional attributes for your war units. You can get relics by forging special shard shards from winning battles.
The relics are an important component in making your unit more competitive in dealing with Live Skirmish opponents as well as ordinary raid operations. You can also deal with the weaknesses of the legions you choose by attaching the right relics to make them more resilient in the fighting. The strength of a relic is determined by the rareness (rarity) randomly obtained when forged in Forge.
