The opening of the Modern Combat 5 was one of Modern Combat’s best openings ever. Contrary to the previous Modern Combat, which takes approximately 15 to 25 minutes, Modern Combat 5 now has a much shorter mission (around 3-10 minutes) but more numbers and changes. As a fan of the first series Modern Combat, I was a little surprised. I’m not sure if it’s a nice change or vice versa, even after ten hours of playing, I still can’t decide.
The problem is that the play experience is much shorter and is like a camel hump. When you start to like a mission, the mission is finished 1 minute later. My enthusiasm often falls shortly after I finish my mission. This is where Modern Combat 5 tries to take the center stage. Yes, the mission gets much shorter, but as a compensation different side missions are obtained.
Starting from avoiding a certain point of the enemy’s herd to break the door and make quick decisions to knock off enemies you will face on this side mission. The best thing is that Gameloft gives all side missions an extra touch so that they feel strong and not simply a filler. For example, during the mission to break the door, it takes about 15-20 seconds from the time the door explodes to see the situation and decide who you are shooting first.
